In January 17th, about 1000 power looms were shut down because of demonstrations.


Thousands of workers gathered in various industrial areas. They held a rally to support their demands.

Workers attending the rally asked to raise their wages to other industrial workers in the state of prat.

The workers also demanded that their wages be paid according to the length of the weaving.

However, the current riot has not been supported by any organization or committee.


Textile workers earn a monthly salary of 5000-6000 rupees.

The workers asked for a monthly wage increase of 7000-8000 rupees.

In addition, workers who work in unregistered textile enterprises do not have any labor benefits.
