The basic safety technical specification for products (GB18401-2010) was implemented in August 1st, which stipulates: infants under 3 years of age.

It is necessary to achieve the highest safety grade, that is, class a standard. Children's clothing, such as class B and C, is forbidden to produce, sell and import. It also has stricter regulations on toxic and harmful substances such as formaldehyde, carcinogenic aromatic amine and amino azobenzene.

But reporters visited the streets of Yinchuan on the 29 day to learn that unqualified infant clothing is still on sale.

On the same day, the reporter came to the children's clothing market of the drum tower pedestrian street, Xing long commercial building, and some infant clothing not only did not label "baby products", but also the B and C categories expressly prohibited by the state.

The salesmen explained that these were secondhand goods, and the new ones have not arrived yet.

In the children's clothing area of the four floor of Dongfang red shop, Xinhua Department Store in Yinchuan, the reporter consulted whether the children's clothing sold was pure cotton, and the salesmen said that all the children's clothes were close fitting.

All of them belong to class A, but reporters found that "children's water" and "tick click" children's wear labels were only labeled "GB18401" and "GB18401-2010", and no A, B and C categories were identified.

In some children's clothing stores on Xinhua Street and National Street, many B and C categories of unregulated infant clothing are still being sold. Some of these labels are replaced by "grade I" and "qualified" labels, some of which are only manufacturer's tag.

When asked about the new national standard and relevant hazardous substances regulations, most salesmen and parents did not understand.

"Buying clothes for children is based on hand feeling and experience, looking at annotated ingredients, with little attention to what national standards."

A parent who buys children's clothing said.

Regarding this, the relevant responsible person of the 12315 consumer complaints and reporting center of the industrial and commercial bureau of the autonomous region said that violations of the new GB regulations and violations of the legitimate rights and interests of consumers will be severely punished according to law.

The new national standard clearly defines the age of infants and young children in the definition of infant textiles from 0-24 months to 0-36 months, and the height is adjusted from 80 centimeters to 100 centimeters.

This means that the textile products used by children aged 2 to 3 who originally met the requirements of class B or C must meet the requirements of class a of the highest safety grade in the future. Otherwise, they will be banned from production and sale. Meanwhile, the new national standard requires that the product execution standards must be marked (including year), and the safety technology category of the product should be marked according to the GB18401 standard.

That is to say, for infants under 3 years old.

It is necessary to mark the words "infant products, class A, GB184012010" on the label of clothing so that consumers can see clearly at a glance.
