Turkey

Recently, the leather industry in Turkey has been affected by factors such as excessive appreciation of domestic currency and rising price of raw materials, and has developed slowly. But the most serious factor is global warming.

About 28.4% of Turkey's leather products are exported to Russia, and 10.2% of its products are exported to Germany. The warm winter effect has reduced international demand, and the export of Turkey leather industry has dropped sharply.

Turkey is the fourth largest leather producer after Italy, China and India.

The development of leather industry is fluctuated by the change of climate and fashion trend.

In Russia, most people buy leather products in nine and October, but as winter weather gets warmer, people's consumption demand for leather clothing gradually decreases.

Warming will also affect people's preferences in clothing categories, such as fur coats, which are warm in previous years, but now they prefer lighter fashions.

The chairman of the Turkey Leather Association said that whether the production crisis caused by the warm winter effect or the fashion trend did not divert attention from the leather manufacturers in Turkey, and opened up other markets outside Russia, is very difficult to understand.

So what we should do now is to vigorously develop other export markets, such as the United States and Japan.
